What Is The FBE Coating Of Spiral Steel Pipe?
Jan. 25, 2019
China Spiral Steel Pipe's FBE is the abbreviation of the English name "FUSION BOND EPOXY" for fusion bonded epoxy. Spiral steel tube FBE coatings are available in single and double layers.
The so-called spiral steel tube FBE coating generally refers to a single layer sintered epoxy coating. The single layer FBE coating uses a special fusion bonded epoxy powder coating as the film forming material. This epoxy powder coating is a thermosetting coating which is prepared by mixing and pulverizing solid epoxy resin, curing agent and various additives.
Piling Spiral Steel Pipe is subjected to shot blasting and intermediate frequency preheating before painting, and then epoxy powder coating is sprayed on the surface of the heated steel pipe by electrostatic spraying, and is melted and bonded to the surface of the steel pipe to form a coating.
The spiral steel tube FBE coating is generally a one-time film-forming structure with a film thickness of 300 to 500 μm. Spiral steel tube FBE coating has the advantages of strong adhesion to steel, good film integrity, resistance to cathodic disbonding, soil stress resistance and wear resistance, but its ability to resist mechanical damage and heat and humidity resistance are poor. The FBE coating can be used for external corrosion protection of steel buried spiral steel pipes or underwater pipeline installations with an operating temperature of -30 to 100 degrees Celsius.
